Transforming your Fundraising Event - An AFP event Co-facilitated by Morgan Dawson and David Westerlund

 Is there a fundraising event that hasn’t been rescheduled during this evolving COVID-19 crisis? With mandatory social distancing in place for the foreseeable future, organizations are revising and rescheduling fundraising events throughout the rest of the year.

Join us for a dynamic discussion with three leaders who have managed the successful execution and sunsetting of large-scale events both in the pre-COVID world and in today’s environment.

Learn how they evaluate the return on investment of events, engage board leadership and stakeholders in decision-making, and adapt strategies to deliver on the organization’s mission. Attendees will have the opportunity to share questions, discuss scenarios in real time, and learn what works when it comes to transforming an organization’s fundraising programs.

Our speakers:

Suman Bhat-Kincaid has worked in the nonprofit sector for nine years and currently serves as the Director of Philanthropy at Upaya Social Ventures. In her previous role as the Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer at Bloodworks Northwest and in her seven years at SightLife, she worked to expand financial support for healthcare organizations working both in the US and abroad. Suman holds a BS in International Management from Butler University and an MPA from the University of Washington.

Grace Rosasco has been on the fundraising events team at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center for five years. She manages two of Fred Hutch’s annual fundraising events: the Hutch Holiday Gala in December and the Premier Chefs Dinner in June, focusing on guest experience, budget planning, fundraising strategy, and overall event logistics. The team at Fred Hutch produces five annual fundraising events as well as numerous Cultivation, Stewardship, and Community Partner events throughout the year.

Teri Tingvall Moore has worked in philanthropy as both a funder and seeker for 35 years throughout the Puget Sound. Her most recent position was serving as the Vice President in the Office of Philanthropy for the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound. She and her husband, Joe, adopted their daughter, Nicole, through foster care when she was 11 years old. Teri and her husband Joe live on a mini-farm in Black Diamond and Nicole is working on her Bachelor’s degree.

Morgan Dawson, Morgan Dawson is the Strategic Partnerships & Programs Manager for the WA Women’s Foundation. She joined the staff in 2017 after being in Seattle for two years. New to philanthropy, Morgan ran events at Bishop’s Lodge Ranch Resort and Spa, and the Santa Fe University of Art and Design in New Mexico. She has a degree in poetry and playwriting from Santa Fe University of Art and Design. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Powerful Voices. Morgan joined the transformation because she believes in the power of relationships to change society. The innovative relationships garnered by WA Women’s Foundation have and continue to make change in communities.
